OUR STORY

Materya, founded by Jamie Rezaie, is shaped by a legacy of Italian artistry and a forward-thinking approach to design, materiality, and space.

Raised in Florence, Italy—renowned as the cradle of art and architecture—his formative years were rooted in the study of civil engineering in his native city. This technical foundation, combined with Florence’s rich artistic heritage, informed a disciplined yet design-driven approach to the built environment.

After relocating to the United States, he transitioned into high-end interior design in the early 2000s, steadily building a reputation for precision, craftsmanship, and a refined European sensibility. In recent years, his work has expanded into hospitality design, contributing to elevated Italian restaurant concepts in Los Angeles and other bespoke dining environments.

Expanding into industrial design, he has collaborated with Italian manufacturers on product development initiatives that explore material innovation, functional performance, and refined architectural expression. This work reflects a continued commitment to merging craftsmanship with forward-thinking design methodologies.

Today, as the visionary behind Materya Inc. in Los Angeles, the studio merges Italian craftsmanship with strategic business acumen, leading complex luxury residential and hospitality projects defined by creativity, precision, and global collaboration.
